In the semi-finals, The Hawkstone Farmers Choir, founded by former Top Gear host and Prime Video star Jeremy Clarkson, performed. The choir, comprised of agricultural workers, sang a rendition of Bastille’s “Pompeii” that captivated the audience and earned them a spot in the final through the public vote.
Despite their impressive performance, Simon Cowell couldn’t resist a playful jab at his friend Jeremy Clarkson. Addressing the choir, Simon acknowledged their amateur status but praised their spirit. “You’re not a professional choir, however I love what you stand for,” he stated. He then added, with a grin, “It might be quite annoying to see Jeremy Clarkson’s smug face, that’s the only downside. He’s a friend of mine.”

The Hawkstone Farmers Choir was initially conceived by Jeremy Clarkson as a way to find singing agricultural workers for an advertisement for his Hawkstone beer range. The choir is now managed by farmers Simon Gwilliam and Lizzy Dean.
Even though Simon had hinted earlier in the evening that the choir was a strong contender, the farmers were still visibly shocked and delighted when their names were announced for the final. Speaking with hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, the group shared their motivation for singing, explaining that they hoped to inspire other farmers struggling with loneliness and mental health issues.
Jeremy Clarkson himself expressed his pride in the choir’s achievement. In a video shared on social media, he was seen celebrating their advancement to the final alongside his Clarkson’s Farm co-star Kaleb Cooper. The pair were captured congratulating the singers amidst a jubilant crowd at Farm Fest.
