A Qantas flight travelling from MelbourneA flight heading to Dallas was redirected to Tahiti after a passenger reportedly bit a flight attendant and was taken off the plane.
Crew and passengers hurried to assist the employee following an alleged attack by the individual during the 18-hour QF21 flight.
The flight was temporarily diverted to Papeete, the capital of Tahiti, where the individual was taken off the plane, greeted by local authorities, and prohibited from flying with Qantas in the future.
“Qantas has a strict policy against any disruptive or threatening actions during flights,” the airline stated.
Following refueling, the flight proceeded to Dallas, but arrived several hours behind schedule.
