Prince Andrew Relocates to Norfolk Estate Amidst Royal Transition
Prince Andrew, the former Duke of York, has been observed supervising the relocation to his new residence on the Sandringham estate in Norfolk. The move comes after his departure from the expansive Royal Lodge in Windsor, signalling a significant shift in his living arrangements and public presence.
Recent sightings captured Prince Andrew driving himself in a Range Rover towards Marsh Farm, a property situated on the Sandringham estate. Accompanying him was a royal protection officer, who was seen with one of the Duke’s seven dogs. Notably, a mystery woman was also present in the rear of the vehicle.
The preparations for Prince Andrew’s occupancy at Marsh Farm have been extensive. Hundreds of moving boxes, many marked with the designation ‘HRH’ (His Royal Highness), have been transported to the farm. Additionally, three lorry-loads of what are believed to be fine art pieces, sourced from a company with a royal warrant, have also arrived. This suggests an effort to furnish the new residence with significant personal effects and art collections.

Staff Accommodation and Security Enhancements
A substantial white mobile home has been installed on the grounds of Marsh Farm, intended to house Prince Andrew’s staff. This accommodation was delivered via lorry and placed in the rear garden area. The necessity for this separate living space arises from Prince Andrew’s eviction from the 30-room Royal Lodge, where staff quarters would have been more integrated. Marsh Farm itself, while boasting five bedrooms, is evidently insufficient to accommodate all necessary personnel. The mobile home has been strategically positioned within a former stable block, likely to minimise its visual impact.
Further evidence of the ongoing transition includes the erection of new, high wooden fences around the perimeter of Marsh Farm. Workers were also observed installing advanced security measures, including CCTV systems and Sky TV, in January. These enhancements underscore a focus on privacy and security surrounding the property. The no-fly zone over the royal estate has also been extended to encompass Marsh Farm, located seven miles from the main Sandringham house.
Lingering Royal Titles and Royal Lodge Eviction
Despite being stripped of his royal titles by his brother, King Charles, Prince Andrew appears to continue using the designation ‘HRH’. This is evidenced by the markings on the numerous boxes being moved into his new home.
The King’s decision to expedite Prince Andrew’s departure from Royal Lodge in February was reportedly influenced by the second release of files pertaining to Jeffrey Epstein. These revelations are understood to have highlighted the extent of Prince Andrew’s past associations. Sources close to the King indicated that the situation left him with “no option” but to remove his brother “from the public gaze,” particularly after Prince Andrew was observed engaging in daily horse rides in Windsor Great Park, often past waiting photographers.
Past Controversies and Family Connections
The Epstein files led to Prince Andrew’s arrest in mid-February, on his 66th birthday, on suspicion of misconduct in public office. Investigations into a string of emails suggested he may have shared confidential documents with Epstein while serving as a trade envoy in Asia between 2010 and 2011, a period after Epstein had been convicted for soliciting prostitution from a minor in 2008.
Prince Andrew’s ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, who had also been residing at Royal Lodge, was compelled to find alternative accommodation in Windsor. Prince Andrew had reportedly been paying a nominal “peppercorn rent” for Royal Lodge since signing the lease in 2003 and funding renovations. Sarah Ferguson has also faced scrutiny regarding her alleged connections to Epstein, with the York City Council considering the removal of her Freedom of the City of York honorary title. She and Prince Andrew received these honours as a wedding gift in 1987. Prince Andrew’s title was formally removed in 2022, following his out-of-court settlement with Virginia Giuffre.

The relocation to Marsh Farm represents a significant chapter for Prince Andrew, marking a move away from a residence he had occupied for many years and into a property that has undergone substantial preparation for his arrival. His continued use of royal designations, even after the removal of his titles, remains a point of note amidst these changes.
