Rodri has issued a warning to Arsenal, suggesting that their pursuit of the Premier League title is far from straightforward following Manchester City’s recent FA Cup victory. The 1-0 win over Chelsea at Wembley secured a second trophy for Pep Guardiola’s team this season, coming after their triumph against Arsenal in the Carabao Cup final in March.

With the FA Cup now behind them, City will refocus on the Premier League, where they currently trail Arsenal by two points with just two matches remaining. This tight race means that every game holds immense significance, and both teams are aware that the outcome could be decided in the final days of the season.

Arsenal have the opportunity to extend their lead by five points if they defeat Burnley at home on Monday. Meanwhile, City will need to secure a victory away at Bournemouth on Tuesday night to keep their title hopes alive. The race for the Premier League title will reach its climax on the final day of the season next Sunday, when City host Aston Villa at the Etihad Stadium, and Arsenal travel to face Crystal Palace.

After City’s FA Cup victory at Wembley, Rodri expressed his belief that Arsenal still face a challenging path to securing the title. “Yeah, it’s a confidence boost [winning the FA Cup], but we don’t lose our calm. There are still two games to play, and they are massive and very, very tough,” he said.

He added: “Everything can happen. It’s just that we need them [Arsenal] to drop points, and it can happen in the next game or in the last game. But if I was in their position, it is not easy to finish the task. We have to be there pushing until the end.”

When asked whether he thinks Arsenal might slip up, Rodri responded: “I mean, from our experience, we were losing the title against Aston Villa at our home in minute 80 [in 2022]. So everything can happen in football. We know how difficult it is to close things, and we know how difficult it is to beat everyone in this Premier League.”

Key Points from Rodri’s Comments

  • Rodri acknowledged that winning the FA Cup was a significant achievement for Manchester City.
  • He emphasized that the Premier League title race remains highly competitive, with two crucial matches left.
  • The midfielder highlighted the unpredictability of football, citing past experiences where City nearly lost the title.
  • He stressed that both teams must remain focused and determined until the very end of the season.

As the Premier League approaches its final stages, fans and players alike are bracing for intense competition. With so much at stake, every match could prove decisive in determining the champion of England’s top flight.
