LAGOS –Chief Fatai Ibu-Owo, a leader of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and a candidate for the House of Representatives, stated that the party aims to capture Lagos from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and subsequently secure victory in the national election.
Ibu-Owo mentioned this while submitting the registration forms of new party members to the state chairman, Hon. George Ashiru, over the weekend.
This is Ibu-Owo on Thursday, 14, 2026, also submitted 1,535 new ADC members to the state chairman, Hon. George Ashiru, as part of continuous initiatives to reinforce and grow the party throughout the state.
During the presentation, Chief Ibu-Owo mentioned that his group is dedicated to recruiting additional members into the party, emphasizing that the initiative aims to create a more robust and citizen-centered ADC framework for the 2027 election.
A candidate for the House of Representatives added that he and his group are committed to efforts aimed at removing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Obafemi Hamzat from their positions in Lagos State.
He stated that voting for ADC is equivalent to supporting security, job creation, unemployment support, reliable power supply, food stability, cost-effective communication services, and better social welfare for Nigerians.
Additionally, Ibu-Owo submitted 305 membership applications sourced from the 18 Local Government Areas, highlighting the increasing popularity and local backing of the party.
In response, the state chairman, Hon. George Ashiru, praised Ibu-Owo and his team for their hard work, loyalty, and ongoing efforts in advancing and promoting the ADC within the state.
According to Ibu-Owo, the Balogunof Jajoland, he would go to great lengths to ensure that there was a shared objective and that the ADC would overcome the ruling APC in every election in Lagos.
