Millions of dollars in property were lost when the Honourable Justice Muhammad Sidi Bage, Federal Secretariat, Lafia, was severely damaged by a fire.
The blaze, which began approximately at 4:00 PM, was extinguished through the collaborative work of the Federal and State Fire Departments.
An official from the Fire Service, who requested to remain unnamed, stated that the fire is now under control.
Nevertheless, he stated that the origin of the fire would be examined.
After speaking with journalists following an on-site evaluation of the facility, CP Shettima Jauro mentioned that the staff have been assigned to surround the area in order to stop troublemakers from exploiting the circumstances to damage other offices.
He praised the joint work of the Federal and State Fire Services in extinguishing the fire.
“According to him,” the fire at the Federal Secretariat was reported to us this afternoon as we were returning from overseeing the ongoing election.
So, according to that, we quickly went to the location and found out that it wasn’t as bad as expected. It was an area where they typically store the inverter panels. Therefore, the fire occurred due to insufficient airflow.
But in accordance with God’s plan, the fire department has extinguished the fire.
“So, as I’m telling you right now, we have positioned our personnel in a strategic manner. The police and Civil Defence are now protecting the site,” he explained.
