I Converse With the Dead in the Afterlife—Their Regrets Are All the Same

Insights from a Psychic Medium on the Afterlife and Regrets of the Deceased

A psychic medium, Jill M Jackson, who claims to have communicated with the dead since childhood, has shared unique insights into the regrets that spirits often express about their lives on Earth. According to her, many spirits in the afterlife share a common sentiment: they wish they had embraced a more open and joyful approach to life rather than being overly serious or rigid in their beliefs.

Jackson, a medium from Mississippi, told the Daily Mail that those in the spirit world often reflect on how strict interpretations of religious teachings limited their worldview while they were alive. She explained that these spirits feel modern religion may have caused them to judge others of different faiths and restrict their understanding of a higher consciousness.

“They wish they had taken the positive parts of that message in understanding that, yes, there is a Creator God, yes, that there is a higher consciousness, but it’s not about control – that it is not fear-based,” she revealed.

The Importance of Play and Joy

One recurring theme Jackson has encountered is the regret of taking life too seriously. She emphasized that many spirits look back on their lives and realize they missed out on opportunities to play, laugh, and enjoy themselves. “A common theme is that humans need to play more often,” she said. This realization comes during a life review, where spirits reflect on their experiences and recognize the importance of joy and spontaneity.

Jackson also explained that all living beings, as well as entire realms like the afterlife, operate at different energy levels. These levels are described as vibrations or frequencies. She noted that the ‘childlike wonder’ of youth is closer to the frequency that spirits attain in the afterlife. In contrast, feelings of anger, negativity, and fear can cause human consciousness to move farther away from this spiritual realm of enlightenment.

Understanding the Afterlife

According to Jackson, the afterlife is not what Hollywood portrays it to be. “We have been programmed to think about heaven being up in the sky, way away from us. But in reality, our loved ones are just in a higher dimension than where we are,” she explained. She added that the afterlife is truly inches away from where we are, which is why mediums are able to tap into that realm when the veil between dimensions thins.

Psychic mediums train to raise their consciousness level by quieting their minds and clearing personal thoughts to reach a state of peace and enlightenment where spirits reside. This allows them to connect with the deceased and pass on messages from the other side.

Messages from the Other Side

The messages that spirits send vary depending on the encounter. Some spirits only send vague images or impressions, while others provide more detailed intentions. Jackson recalled an audience reading where she envisioned the spirit of an audience member’s grandfather. Despite her attempts to get a message through, the spirit remained quiet until the person in the audience laughed, saying it was like pulling teeth to get him to talk while he was alive.

When a spirit is looking to be chatty, the conversation often drifts toward specific regrets that the individual hopes their loved ones will avoid. Jackson noted that many highly religious individuals send messages about learning to be non-judgmental and connecting with a higher consciousness without the need for control.

Recognition and Training

Jackson was recognized by the group Best American Psychics in both 2015 and 2016 as the ‘Psychic of the Year.’ Her work is based on her integrity, accuracy, and meaningful service within the psychic and spiritual community.

She explained that her encounters with spirits are often random. She might be talking with someone when a spirit related to that person appears in her mind’s eye, trying to get her attention to deliver a message. Jackson compared her experiences to those of well-known mediums such as John Edward and Theresa Caputo, noting that she does the same thing – connecting with loved ones to pass on insights from another plane of existence.

Early Experiences and Everyday Psychic Abilities

Jackson began seeing spirits as a young child, though she could not hear or understand them until she was 12 years old. That was when her deceased grandmother appeared, floating above her bed in a healthy form, reassuring Jackson that she was free from pain in the afterlife.

Throughout her life, she would see random people walking around, even in public, as shadow figures that were translucent but still clear. She also started seeing them in her mind’s eye, which she considers the third eye.

Jackson noted that while many psychic mediums go through special training to manage their abilities, everyone has some level of psychic ability hidden inside. She referred to it as a form of intuition or a ‘sixth sense,’ citing examples like suddenly thinking of someone who then calls, having prophetic dreams, or sensing positive or negative energy in a room.

Children, she said, often have higher energy levels due to their joyful wonder, making it more common for them to see and communicate with souls in the afterlife. Furthermore, the realm where these spirits travel to after death is not split into heaven and hell. In fact, Jackson and others who have had near-death experiences believe there is no painful dimension like hell at all.

They describe the afterlife as a vast, loving field of light where individuals enter after reviewing and learning from all their experiences on Earth. It is this journey down memory lane that solidifies their greatest joys and the regrets Jackson claims they want others to avoid.
