Pakistan, May 17 — To enhance local dredging expertise within the nation’s maritime industry, Pakistan has established the National Dredging and Marine Services (NDMS) company. This project is a collaboration between the National Logistics Corporation (NLC), Karachi Port Trust (KPT), Port Qasim Authority, and Gwadar Port Authority. The formation of NDMS seeks to minimize reliance on overseas dredging firms and conserve significant foreign currency by building domestic capabilities. The company will carry out dredging activities to maintain the smooth operation of Port Qasim and boost the overall effectiveness of maritime transport across the country.
