UN Delegation Completes Laayoune Assessment of MINURSO Mission
A high-level delegation from the United Nations, comprised of senior officials and seasoned peacekeeping experts, has concluded a crucial field visit to Laayoune. This visit is a key component of a comprehensive assessment aimed at evaluating the performance of the United Nations Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO). The assessment is taking place against a backdrop of mounting international pressure to scrutinize the effectiveness of long-standing peacekeeping operations.
The delegation’s itinerary, which commenced on Wednesday, involved a series of intensive meetings. These discussions were held with both the civilian and military leadership of the MINURSO mission, as well as with Moroccan officials.
