Members of the All Progressives Congress in the Kankara/Faskari/Sabuwa federal constituency of Katsina State have confirmed Hon. Hamza Sule Faskari as the agreed-upon candidate for the House of Representatives position in the 2027 general elections.

Shortly after the affirmation exercise in Kankara on Saturday, the Chairman of the APC consensus committee, Tasiu Sabuwa, stated that the agreement was a unanimous choice made by representatives from the 31 wards within the three local government areas of the constituency.

He mentioned that among the factors considered in the consensus decision were the candidate’s popularity, the degree of support from voters, dedication to the party, and their experience in politics and public service.

He stated that Hamza Sule has fulfilled all the requirements and, should he be elected, will effectively advocate for the constituency’s residents and enhance the party’s appeal and support among voters.

Meanwhile, the state Deputy Governor, Alhaji Faruk Lawal Jobe, praised the consensus committee in the constituency and the zone, led by former state Deputy Governor, Alhaji Tukur Ahmad Jikamshi, for carrying out a comprehensive task.

Jobe urged candidates who were unsuccessful in the primaries to accept the committee’s ruling with integrity, encouraging them to unite with other APC members to support the party’s success in the general elections.

During his acceptance address, the widely supported candidate, Hon. Hamza Sule, expressed gratitude to the party’s stakeholders for their trust in his ability to serve the constituency in the Federal House of Representatives.

He called for unity among party leaders and members, as well as those who have not yet received their voter cards, to do so as the party prepares for the upcoming general elections next year.

Faskari stated that if elected to serve the constituency, he would focus on enhancing security by increasing the number of security officers and resources, as well as implementing more efficient methods to address robbery and abductions in the three local government areas.

Hon Hamza Sule has served twice as the Commissioner for Environment in Katsina State, previously worked as a Legislative Aide to the Senator who represents the Funtua Zone, and is considered one of the most powerful political figures in the region.
