The Middle Belt Conscience Guard (MBCG) has praised the Chief of Defence Staff, Olufemi Oluyede, and the military for maintaining joint military actions against militants and criminal organizations in various regions of the nation.
A statement released on Friday, authored by the group’s president, Anthony Idoko, and secretary-general, Amos Adamu, stated that the organization noted the recent military actions in the North-Central and North-East areas demonstrated a stronger dedication and better tactical cooperation among security forces.
The team commended General Oluyede for what it referred to as “clear operational leadership and strategic coordination” in current counter-insurgency and anti-banditry efforts.
We praise the Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede, along with military leaders and troops on the front lines for maintaining operational pressure against lawbreakers in unstable areas.
The group stated that the military command should receive backing instead of being subjected to political interference in security initiatives, highlighting that the extent of instability facing Nigeria necessitates institutional collaboration and national solidarity.
It called on the military to continue their efforts in breaking up terrorist strongholds, interrupting the flow of weapons, and restoring areas impacted by violent assaults.
As per the organization, new operations have contributed to rebuilding trust among inhabitants in various rural areas that had been left behind because of ongoing assaults by armed factions.
The MBCG also urged state governments and local communities to enhance collaboration with security agencies by exchanging intelligence and establishing community-driven support systems.
“Without the trust and collaboration of local communities, no security framework can achieve success. People need to perceive themselves as key participants in the national security initiative,” the organization stated.
The group also called on the federal government to keep funding military well-being, intelligence collection, monitoring systems, and operational support to maintain the progress being made across different areas.
The Middle Belt group stated that although security issues continue to be major, ongoing operational cooperation and effective leadership within the military are starting to produce tangible outcomes in various regions experiencing conflicts.
