Capital Hotel Plc, which operates the Abuja Continental Hotel, concluded the 2025 fiscal year with a 59 percent increase in revenue compared to the previous year and a 32 percent growth in profit following taxes.

The firm, in a press release, cited consistent demand at its main establishment, the Abuja Continental Hotel, even amid challenging economic conditions in the overall market.

The Director and Acting Chairman, Alhaji Abdulkadir Aminu, revealed this during the company’s 45th Annual General Meeting, noting that the outcomes highlight the strength of high-end hospitality demand in Nigeria’s capital.

At the annual general meeting, shareholders praised the board and management for their achievements and for the continuous renovation and upgrading of major hotel facilities, which are designed to enhance the guest experience and meet global hospitality standards.

Aminu recognized the backing of investors in the company’s continuous restoration initiatives aimed at increasing the worth of its key asset, the Abuja Continental Hotel.

He observed that 2025 was characterized by major economic changes, such as inflation, fluctuations in currency value, and increased energy and operational expenses.

“Shifts in travel habits and heightened competition within the luxury market created additional challenges. Nevertheless, consistent demand for premium lodging, conferences, and events in Abuja offered a strong base for the company’s expansion,” he stated.

As per his statement, the impressive performance occurred alongside the implementation of a board-endorsed capital investment initiative designed to upgrade the Abuja Continental Hotel.

Aminu mentioned that the current renovations and facility improvements are aimed at upholding global standards, enhancing the guest’s stay, and ensuring the hotel’s standing in the luxury sector.

“These investments are part of a long-term plan aimed at safeguarding and increasing the value of our main asset, rather than temporary solutions,” he said.

He mentioned that rigorous cost control, along with strategic capital allocation, enabled the company to enhance profitability without affecting service quality.

In the future, he showed belief in the company’s prospects, mentioning Abuja’s ongoing position as Nigeria’s administrative and diplomatic center.

Capital Hotel Plc announced that it will focus on finishing critical stages of its renovation project, enhancing operational effectiveness, and boosting service provision throughout its various departments to ensure long-term value for investors.
