Pakistan, May 17 — David Beckham has officially shifted from curving free kicks to influencing billionaire rankings.
As per the 2026 Sunday Times Rich List, the football legend and his wife Victoria Beckham now have an astonishing total wealth of £1.185 billion – which makes David the UK’s first billionaire athlete.
Not bad for a man who was previously recognized mostly for his haircuts and last-minute goals.
And indeed, Lionel Messi deserves at least a small thank-you card.
A significant portion of Beckham’s substantial increase in wealth is said to be attributed to Inter Miami CF, the MLS team he co-owns, which experienced a major commercial boost following Messi’s joining.
Beckham, aged 51, is reportedly responsible for persuading the Argentine star to remain in Miami for an additional three years – a decision that likely pleased accountants more than football supporters.
However, it’s not only money from football pouring in. Beckham’s Miami business now extends well beyond the field, with a 131-acre project surrounding Inter Miami’s new stadium reportedly worth over £370 million.
In the meantime, Victoria Beckham subtly transformed her fashion label from a financial burden into a strong entity. Following years of doubt regarding her aspirations as a designer, the brand is now said to produce more than £100 million each year.
Somewhere, Posh Spice is likely grinning with great satisfaction.
Including profitable Adidas contracts, business profits, and their ever-sellable “brand Beckham” system, the billionaire status now becomes clear.
Honestly, retirement has never appeared so lucrative.
