Dhaka, May 17 — The World Health Organization announced on Sunday that the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda has been classified as a “public health emergency of international concern.”
On a social media platform X, the WHO stated that the outbreak, triggered by the Bundibugyo virus, does not meet the criteria for a pandemic-level crisis.
Global health initiatives are achieving outcomes, yet the progress remains delicate and inadequate, according to the WHO.
