Jeannette Catsoulis of The New York Times described “Fuze” as a film that “hurtles along entertainingly and with no small amount of tension.” Similarly, Randy Myers from the San Jose Mercury News lauded director David Mackenzie, who has helmed ten feature films, for his ability to “never take the weight off the pedal,” advising audiences to “put the brain on mute and just enjoy.”
Further critical praise came from David Griffiths of Subculture Entertainment, who hailed it as “A brilliant thriller that has one of the biggest twists in cinematic history. A fantastic screenplay that just keeps the audience guessing throughout. A must see if you like an intense movie experience.” Keith Garlington also commended the plot for deviating from the “usual formula” and applauded the “top-tier cast for providing sheer entertainment.”
However, audience feedback has been more varied. Some viewers noted similarities to the style of director Guy Ritchie, with one user, Lizzy838, commenting that while the film has “shades of Guy Ritchie,” the storyline becomes “a little convoluted.”

Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who recently starred in “28 Years Later” and was once considered a frontrunner to succeed Daniel Craig as James Bond, expressed his enthusiasm for the project. He was particularly drawn to the “page-turning, intensely thrilling script.”
Taylor-Johnson elaborated on his experience, telling Times Live, “The film keeps you on the edge of your seat, knowing that lives are at stake. A bomb is found, the evacuation begins, and then you realise that, simultaneously, a heist is taking place. The bomb is a decoy for something bigger with more players involved.”
He also highlighted the cast and crew’s commitment to achieving “authenticity” in their portrayal of the events, working closely with experienced ex-military professionals. “Of course, there’s a balance between striving for authenticity and telling a dramatic story,” Taylor-Johnson explained. “There are twists and turns where we use creative license and sometimes gallows humour, which works well in the more chaotic situations. Other times we wanted to emphasise the pressure, the fear, and the anxiety.”
