Romeo Beckham has seemingly thrown his support behind his parents in the ongoing family drama, opting for a new tattoo that speaks volumes about his loyalties. The ink, a prominent script on the back of his neck, simply reads “Family,” a stark declaration in the wake of publicised rifts within the Beckham household.
The Beckham clan has been navigating a period of significant tension, particularly since eldest son Brooklyn, 26, made a highly publicised statement on Instagram last month. In this assertion, the aspiring chef declared his intention to distance himself from the family, accusing his parents of actively undermining his relationship with his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham. To date, David and Victoria Beckham have remained largely silent on the specific allegations put forth by Brooklyn.
Romeo, 23, the second of David and Victoria’s sons and a model in his own right, unveiled his new body art via an Instagram post. The cursive “Family” tattoo is positioned just above his existing winged cross design, adding a new layer of personal significance to his collection. This latest piece was inked at Fine Line Hearts Club, a studio in Soho that has previously worked on Romeo’s tattoos and also for his younger brother, Cruz, 20.
The timing of Romeo’s tattoo is particularly noteworthy. It emerged shortly after reports surfaced suggesting that Brooklyn had altered a tattoo tribute to his father, David. The word “Dad” on his arm is said to have been obscured by small shapes, a move interpreted by many as a further sign of estrangement.
Brooklyn’s Public Statement and Allegations
The public rift was brought into sharp focus by a lengthy statement Brooklyn shared on his Instagram stories in January. In this six-page declaration, he alleged that his parents had “controlled narratives in the press about our family.” He further elaborated, stating that “performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into.” These claims painted a picture of a life under constant scrutiny and a perceived lack of genuine connection within the family unit.

Romeo’s Public Show of Support
In contrast to Brooklyn’s public pronouncements, Romeo has consistently demonstrated his support for his parents. Notably, he attended a significant event for his mother, Victoria, when she was honoured with the Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters at the French Ministry of Culture in Paris. This ceremony took place just days after Brooklyn’s explosive statement.
Romeo, accompanied by his girlfriend Kim Turnbull, was present to celebrate his mother’s achievement. He was joined by his younger brother, Cruz, and Cruz’s girlfriend, Jackie Apostel, as well as their sister, Harper, who is 14 years old. This united front at a public event underscored a clear distinction in allegiances, with Romeo and his siblings aligning themselves with their parents during a period of familial discord.
The “Family” tattoo serves as a potent symbol of Romeo’s stance, a permanent reminder etched onto his skin that, amidst the reported rifts and accusations, his connection to his immediate family remains a paramount concern. It suggests a desire to draw a line and reaffirm his place within the core Beckham unit, separate from the alleged dramas and public narratives that have emerged. The ongoing situation continues to be a subject of considerable public interest, with the contrasting actions of the Beckham sons offering a compelling narrative of familial dynamics under intense media scrutiny.
