Pakistan, May 17 — Saudi Arabia is set to host its inaugural professional T20 cricket league in October this year, featuring international stars. The six-team Dunes T20 League will commence during the second week of October, marking a major milestone in the progression of cricket within the Kingdom. The event seeks to boost the sport’s growth in the region, offer chances for both new and experienced local players, and present a top-tier sporting and entertainment experience to audiences worldwide, with renowned players anticipated to participate.
With preparations intensifying ahead of the October 2026 debut, the Dunes T20 League will mark a significant milestone in Saudi Arabia’s sports development, uniting global cricket stars, up-and-coming local players, and top-tier facilities to position the nation as a vibrant new hub in the global cricket scene. The Saudi Arabian Cricket Federation granted South Asian Network Limited the rights in October 2025 to create and manage the country’s first professional T20 cricket competition.
SAN Ltd. will organize the event in collaboration with Unique Sports Group and Prolithic Talent, a sports management and investment firm guided by cricket icon Yuvraj Singh. With former India player Singh serving as league ambassador, the Dunes T20 League will gain from his expertise at the top level of international cricket and his extensive global fan base. “I’m really excited to join the Dunes T20 League as league ambassador during such a thrilling period for cricket in Saudi Arabia,” Singh remarked. “This league has the vision and drive to expand the sport in a new market, provide opportunities for local emerging players, and offer fans an authentic cricket experience.”
