Victims and Injuries:
- A man in his 30s, identified as Mr. A, sustained severe second-degree burns across his entire body. He was immediately transported to a medical facility for treatment.
- Ms. B, also in her 30s, suffered second-degree burns on both of her arms. She too was taken to a hospital for urgent medical attention.
Property Damage:
- The fire caused an estimated 8,060,000 Korean won in property damage.
- Approximately 32 square meters of the building’s interior, including household belongings, were destroyed by the flames, according to preliminary assessments by the fire department.
Response and Extinguishment:
- Firefighting units responded swiftly to the scene.
- The blaze was successfully brought under control and extinguished around 2:40 a.m., a mere 20 minutes after the initial report was received.
Previous Evening Incident in Ganghwa-gun
Adding to the city’s fire concerns, another fire occurred on the evening prior to the Namdong-gu incident. This blaze took place at a single-family house in Hajumyeon, Ganghwa-gun, Incheon, around 6:11 p.m.
Victim and Injuries:
- Ms. A, a woman in her 70s, sustained second-degree burns to her face and both hands. She received immediate medical care.
Property Damage:
- The estimated property damage from this fire amounted to 1,000,000 Korean won.
- The fire consumed approximately 30 square meters of the house, impacting both the structure and its contents.
Response and Extinguishment:

- It was completely extinguished by the fire authorities around 8:24 p.m. on the same day it began.
