Final Ticket Sales Window Opens for 2026 World Cup

Football’s most prestigious tournament, the 2026 FIFA World Cup, is entering its final ticket sales phase, offering fans a last chance to secure their seats for the highly anticipated event. FIFA announced that the fourth and final sales window will commence for the general public on a first-come, first-served basis starting April 1. This initiative aims to accommodate the immense demand and ensure a broad spectrum of supporters can witness the global spectacle.

The ticket sales will continue without a fixed end date, remaining open throughout the duration of the tournament. FIFA has committed to releasing tickets on a rolling basis, meaning opportunities to purchase will arise continuously. In a move designed to maximize accessibility, some tickets may even become available for same-day matches, offering spontaneous fans a chance to join the festivities. Purchasers will benefit from the ability to select specific seats directly through FIFA’s official ticketing platform, receiving immediate confirmation upon completing their transaction. For those who have already secured tickets, access will be granted through their user accounts starting from April 1.

Resale Platform and Unprecedented Demand

Complementing the direct sales, FIFA will also reopen its official resale platform on April 2. This secure channel will enable existing ticket holders who are unable to attend matches to resell their tickets to other fans, fostering a dynamic secondary market. FIFA has underscored the exceptionally high demand for tickets, reporting that the previous sales phase generated over 500 million requests. By February 27, more than one million tickets had already been sold, a testament to the global appeal of the World Cup.

With the tournament less than 80 days away, anticipation is reaching fever pitch. FIFA projects that the total attendance for the 2026 World Cup is set to eclipse the long-standing record of 3.5 million spectators, a benchmark established during the 1994 World Cup held in the United States. This anticipated surge in attendance highlights the growing popularity of the sport and the expanded format of the tournament, which will feature an increased number of participating teams.

Morocco’s Path to Glory

As the tournament draws nearer, teams are finalizing their preparations, and fans are eagerly following their national sides. Moroccan supporters, in particular, are buzzing with excitement as their national team, the Atlas Lions, prepares for their World Cup debut. Morocco has been drawn into Group C, a formidable quartet that also includes Scotland, Brazil, and Haiti.

The Atlas Lions are set to kick off their campaign against a powerhouse opponent, Brazil, on June 13. This opening group-stage match will be held at the iconic MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, providing a grand stage for Morocco’s first outing.

Following their encounter with Brazil, Morocco will face Scotland on June 19. This fixture is scheduled to take place at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, located within the greater Boston area of Massachusetts. The team will then conclude their group stage journey on June 24, taking on Haiti at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. The strategic placement of these matches across key venues in the United States promises a thrilling and geographically diverse experience for both the teams and their travelling fan bases. The success of the Atlas Lions in this challenging group will be a focal point for many observers.
