Consolidated Bank Ghana Extends Support to National Chief Imam Ahead of Eid al-Fitr
Consolidated Bank Ghana (CBG) recently paid a significant courtesy call on the esteemed National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu, at his residence in Fadama. This important engagement, which took place on March 19, 2026, underscored CBG’s proactive approach to building and maintaining robust relationships with pivotal national figures and stakeholders.
The delegation, comprised of the bank’s senior management, articulated that the visit served a dual purpose: to strengthen existing ties and to offer tangible support for the upcoming Eid al-Fitr celebrations. A key component of this outreach was the presentation of essential provisions to the National Chief Imam. These donations included vital items such as bags of rice, cooking oil, beverages, and a variety of other foodstuffs, all intended to aid in the communal festivities.
During the ceremony, Dr. Naomi Wolali Kwetey, the Executive Director of CBG, eloquently conveyed the bank’s sentiments. She stated, “Our visit today is a heartfelt gesture of solidarity and profound respect, reinforcing CBG’s unwavering commitment to fostering harmony and understanding across all faiths within our nation.” Dr. Kwetey further elaborated on the significance of the meeting, noting, “We also seized this valuable opportunity to formally introduce ourselves to the Chief Imam. We recognize that prior to this, we had not yet had the chance to do so since assuming our respective roles.”
Dr. Kwetey also highlighted the practical support being offered, adding, “In addition to our expressions of goodwill, the bank has brought a token contribution of both cash and food items, specifically to support the joyous Eid celebration.”
The National Chief Imam graciously accepted the donated items and, in turn, offered prayers and blessings for the CBG team. He provided assurance that the generous donations would be meticulously distributed amongst the wider Muslim community, a practice deeply ingrained in the traditions of the annual Eid celebrations.
This engagement by Consolidated Bank Ghana serves as a clear demonstration of its dedication to community upliftment and its active participation in corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, particularly during the sacred month of Ramadan.
Beyond the immediate charitable gesture, CBG has been actively promoting its financial services designed to benefit the Muslim community. The bank has been at the forefront of advertising quick and secure remittance services, positioning itself as a trusted and reliable partner for individuals seeking to receive money, especially during the holy month. As of March 2026, the bank’s strategic focus has been on ensuring swift and efficient remittance processing, thereby underscoring its commitment to serving the financial needs of the Muslim populace with enhanced offerings.
