Ekuana Royal Family Denies Leadership Change Reports

Accra, Ghana – Legal representatives for the Ekuana Royal Family of Parkoso and Nsuta have vehemently refuted circulating reports alleging the destoolment of the family head, Victor Kofi Owusu. The legal firm, Baba Jamal & Associates, issued a strong statement on March 25, 2026, characterising the claims as entirely false and deliberately misleading.

Publications that have proliferated across social media platforms and mainstream news outlets, suggesting a shift in leadership within the esteemed royal family, have been officially dismissed. The lawyers asserted that these reports, which have been purportedly linked to supporters of an individual identified as Abusuapanin Tupac, appear to be orchestrated with the intention of fostering discord and disorientation within the Ekuana Royal Family.

The legal team emphasised that the fundamental tenets of Akan tradition, which govern the process of destoolment, have not been observed. They stressed that no recognised customary procedures have been initiated or brought to completion to effect the removal of the family head. The established protocols for destoolment are clearly defined, and these have not been applied in the current circumstances.

Upholding Legitimacy and Authority

Victor Kofi Owusu, according to the statement released by Baba Jamal & Associates, unequivocally remains the legitimate and recognised head of the Ekuana Royal Family. He continues to actively exercise his rightful authority and leadership within the family structure. The legal firm’s pronouncement serves to underscore the continuity and stability of the family’s leadership.

The statement also carried a stern warning regarding the propagation of what was described as misinformation. The legal firm cautioned that the continued dissemination of these false claims could potentially lead to significant legal ramifications for both individuals and media organisations found to be complicit in their publication.

Bloggers, media houses, and general social media users have been explicitly advised to cease and desist from circulating these unsubstantiated allegations. The lawyers highlighted that such actions not only undermine the established customary authority but also carry a substantial risk of exacerbating existing tensions within the community and the royal family itself.

The legal representatives concluded their statement by reaffirming the unwavering unity of the Ekuana Royal Family of Parkoso and Nsuta. They reiterated that the family stands united under the continued and legitimate leadership of Victor Kofi Owusu, projecting an image of solidarity and steadfastness in the face of these unfounded reports. The firm’s firm stance aims to quell rumours and reinforce the established order within the royal lineage.
