BODHI Bathhouse + Spa will open its first Tasmanian bathhouse in Hobart this September.
Tasmania has never been short on places to warm up. Across the island, saunas have become a wellness calling card, tucked into forests and perched beside waterways everywhere from Dunalley Bay to Lake Derby. Yet despite the growing appetite for hot-and-cold therapy, the Tasmanian capital has been missing one thing: a dedicated high-end bathhouse.
That’s about to change.
In September, BODHI Bathhouse + Spa will open its doors at The Tasman, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Hobart, bringing a sophisticated new addition to the city’s burgeoning wellness scene and marking the brand’s first Tasmanian outpost.

For a state that has built a reputation on wild landscapes, brisk ocean swims and invigorating winter rituals, the arrival feels very much like a natural progression.
At the heart of the space will be a contrast therapy circuit, inviting guests to move between heat, cold and recovery zones at their own pace. The experience includes a sauna, steam room, cold plunge, magnesium pool, ice fountain, thermal lounges and pail showers – all designed to encourage relaxation and rejuvenation.
For those seeking a longer stay in the wellness lane, the bathhouse will also feature four treatment rooms, two double treatment suites and a cocoon-like relaxation lounge. The treatment menu spans radiance-boosting facials utilising sustainable Sodashi skincare products, massage therapies and body treatments.
As with many of the most compelling wellness destinations, the design draws heavily from its surroundings. While the finer details remain under wraps, the interiors are set to reference Tasmania’s rugged natural beauty through materials such as stone and timber, creating a sense of connection to the landscape beyond the walls.

The opening represents a significant next step for BODHI Bathhouse + Spa, which has steadily expanded its footprint across Australia and beyond. The wellness group currently operates five spa locations throughout Western Australia, alongside sites in Adelaide and Singapore.
“We are thrilled to bring BODHI to Hobart,” said Tania Taylor, founder and co-CEO of the BODHI Spa Group. “This marks an exciting new chapter as we expand further beyond our home state of Western Australia. The Tasman shares our deep commitment to luxury, connection and wellbeing, making it the perfect partner for our first BODHI Bathhouse + Spa.”
