New Leadership at PPS Insurance Namibia
Georg Garrels has been appointed as the new Chief Executive designate of PPS Insurance Namibia, effective 1 August 2026. This appointment comes after Johan van der Westhuizen’s retirement at the end of May 2026. Garrels brings a wealth of experience to his new role. Qualified as a Chartered Accountant, he has spent 22 years in the life insurance industry. His professional credentials include registration with both ICAN and SAICA. He holds a B Acc degree from Stellenbosch University, as well as auditing and taxation diplomas, which have equipped him with a solid foundation in financial and insurance practices.
Before joining PPS Insurance Namibia, Garrels worked at FirstRand Namibia and FNB Insurance. These positions allowed him to develop a deep understanding of the insurance sector and the importance of customer-centric services.
