Michele Bachmann, a former Minnesota congresswoman and one-time Republican presidential hopeful, has ignited a firestorm with her assertion that divine intervention will secure Republican victories in the upcoming midterms, contingent on Donald Trump’s continued military actions against Iran. This bold claim, delivered in a widely circulated online video, has drawn sharp criticism, not from the usual political opponents, but from within the ranks of the America First movement itself.
In the video, Bachmann declared, “Trump and Netanyahu were appointed for this task, destined for this task. This is a biblical moment. If Trump takes care of Iran, God will deliver the midterms and the Israeli elections.” Her statement positions the geopolitical situation as a divinely ordained undertaking, directly linking military action to electoral success.

The pronouncement met with swift and strong disapproval from David Pyne, a prominent figure within the America First conservative sphere and the operator of the “America First Conservative” account on X. Pyne, who had previously supported Bachmann’s presidential bid in 2012, expressed his dismay publicly. “Wow. I can’t believe I supported former Rep. Michelle Bachmann for President in 2012,” he wrote, labelling her a “total Israel First whack job” and deeming her current stance “beyond delusional.”
