A group of involved parties from the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Anambra North Senatorial District has supported former Aviation Minister and Senator for Anambra North, Stella Oduah, labeling recent accusations against her as politically driven and intended to diminish her rising power inside the party.
The group, which functions under the name Anambra North Stakeholders For Good Governance, alleged that unidentified political rivals were behind a planned media campaign and petition effort aimed at the former senator before upcoming political events in the region.
A joint statement released by Chief Akosa Umeano and Afam Chukwura on Thursday in Awka stated that Senator Oduah has never been found guilty of any criminal offense by any Nigerian court, contradicting allegations being made in certain circles.
The interested parties mentioned the case at the FCT High Court, which was led by Justice Hamza Muazu on March 26, 2026, noting that Senator Oduah and Gloria Odita were released and found not guilty following the Director of Public Prosecutions changing the charges and replacing two companies as the defendants in the case.
As per the group, “The court never found Senator Stella Oduah guilty. The court never declared her guilty, and no criminal responsibility was proven against her individually.”
The coalition also dismissed assertions that the former senator admitted guilt on behalf of the companies involved in the case, maintaining that company officials submitted the pleas as shown in the court records.
Calling efforts to present the result as a personal belief as “false, misleading, and politically harmful,” the parties involved stated that accusations and petitions should not be considered evidence of guilt according to Nigerian law.
The group also responded to claims regarding Senator Oduah’s academic history and National Youth Service Corps paperwork, pointing out that she had challenged and held two Senate terms following constitutional verification procedures conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security bodies, and other pertinent organizations.
“No court has ever determined her guilty of falsification, forgery, or lying under oath,” the statement further mentioned. The coalition claimed that the renewed attacks were linked to Senator Oduah’s growing political influence in Anambra North and her expected electoral power in upcoming elections.
As per the stakeholders, Senator Oduah is considered “one of the most influential political personalities in the region,” highlighting her local network, political expertise, and voting power.
They also urged Chukwuma Soludo to ignore what they termed politically motivated demands for the former senator’s removal, while advising the All Progressives Grand Alliance not to let itself become a tool for political persecution.
The group emphasized that APGA must continue to uphold justice, equity, and constitutional values instead of “media trials and politically motivated petitions.”
Reiterating its backing of Senator Oduah, the group stated that the residents of Anambra North are able to tell the difference between real responsibility and political harassment.
